Nursery to Class V (Primary)
Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) is followed throughout the year.
Student performance is assessed on the basis of classroom activities, weekly/periodic tests, participation, and overall growth.
A five-point grading scale (A*, A, B, C, D) is used.
A minimum grade of ‘D’ is required for promotion.
Promotion is based on the overall performance of the student for the entire academic year.
The academic year is divided into two terms:
Term I (Half-Yearly)
Term II (Annual)
Both include Internal Assessment (20 marks) and Exams (80 marks).
Internal Assessment (20 marks per term) includes:
Periodic Tests – 10 marks
Subject Enrichment Activities (projects, practicals, etc.) – 5 marks
Notebook submission – 5 marks
Examinations (80 marks per term) cover:
Syllabus carefully planned so that:
Class VI: Annual exam covers 60% syllabus
Class VII: Annual exam covers 70% syllabus
Class VIII: Annual exam covers 80% syllabus
Marks from internal assessments and exams are added to form a 100 marks total per term.
To be eligible for promotion, a student must score at least 33% marks (minimum passing grade) in both terms in each subject.
If a student does not meet the minimum grade in any subject, a Grade Improvement Test (GIT) is conducted for final promotion.
For classes up to VIII, students are also assessed in co-scholastic areas such as:
Work Education
Art Education
Health & Physical Education
These areas are graded on a five-point scale (A to E).
Discipline Assessment (20 marks) includes:
Attendance – 10 marks
Sincerity – 5 marks
Behaviour & Values – 5 marks
Students must maintain minimum required attendance to be eligible for promotion.
Attendance is part of the discipline assessment and influences final evaluation.
Promotion is granted based on the overall academic performance during the session.
Periodic tests and final answer sheets are shown to parents for transparency.
Students are expected to be in proper school uniform during all exams.
Any act of cheating may lead to zero marks in that subject or further disciplinary action as per school policy.
